Parnell Pharmaceuticals has developed products to improve the quality of life for those with dryness of the skin and other tissues of the body. Parnell is the first company dedicated to the research and development of new and innovative products to restore and maintain mucosal and skin integrity. Employing a proprietary and patented technology, Parnell Pharmaceuticals’ products contain Yerba Santa, which contains natural antioxidants, mucopolysaccharides, and glycoproteins.

The Yerba Santa plant, native to the foothills of the Pacific Northwest, has been used as an herbal remedy by many Native American tribes for centuries. Parnell Pharmaceuticals holds five patents for its Yerba santa extract.

Our founders

Our founders, Francis Parnell, M.D., and Diana Parnell, M.D., are one of the most dynamic teams working in medicine today. The Parnell’s co-founded Parnell Pharmaceuticals, Inc. over forty years ago to research and create pharmaceuticals to sustain wellness and to improve quality of life. They are both graduates of Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed residency training at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Dr. Francis Parnell

Dr. Francis Parnell, who led the research team that developed the Parnell Pharmaceuticals products, was a practicing Otolaryngology-Head and Neck ( ENT) Surgeon for over 30 years. He is a Life Fellow, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is a co-founder of the Cosmetic & Laser Surgery Institute with Dr. Diana Parnell and previously was Corporate Medical Director at Becton, Dickinson & Co. {B-D). Dr. Parnell is a U.S. Army veteran having served on active duty during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. He served as a U.S. Delegate to the World Health Organization (WHO).

 

Dr. Diana Parnell

The co-founder, Diana Parnell, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist with extensive experience and expertise in cosmetic and laser surgery as well as general dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She interned, trained, and taught dermatology at the University of Wisconsin Medical School before moving to California.  Dr. Parnell served on the faculty of the University of California San Francisco Medical School for over 30 years, most recently as Assistant Clinical Professor.

Dr. Diana Parnell and her husband, Dr. Francis Parnell, an otolaryngologist, co-founded Parnell Pharmaceuticals. Their drive to research and create pharmaceuticals to sustain wellness and improve quality of life has led them to develop several successful products. In 1987, one such effort led to the FDA approval of a medication used to treat psoriasis. It was one of only 22 medications approved in the United States that year.
